ITEC/BPI Advanced Bldg Analyst & Env Cert Jul 28-Aug 1, 2014
This is a very intensive 5 day class including all the training necessary to challenge both the BPI Advanced Building Analyst and BPI Building Envelope professional certifications. Class is a combination of classroom, field work and homework. Students should expect to spend several hours each night in study. Because of the intense nature of this class it is limited to students with solid background in the home performance trade or other similar experience. Class size is limited to 6 to provide individual attention. This class teaches participants the basic theory and practices necessary to work in various energy saving programs running in the North East. The new “Advanced BA” testable items are part of this class. This envelope certification is a BPI residential specialization that focuses on the building thermal and pressure boundaries and the ways to enhance the envelope through insulation and airsealing techniques. As an individual this course will prepare you to understand not only how to analyze a home, but help you to understand why the process is so important. Every home is different and it is important to understand not only what is happening, but why problems related to the building envelope such as moisture, ice dams, mildew and drafts were created in the first place. Students must successfully pass an online written exam through the Building Performance Institute and pass a proctored field exam in order to receive BPI certification as a Advanced Building Analyst and an Envelope professional.Class Dates are July 28-August 1, 2014.
