EMEC 303.2 Surviving Nightmare Alley
EMEC 303.2 Webinar: “Surviving Nightmare Alley” Driver Safety Course Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 10 AM – 11 AM. Done in conjunction with the New England Fuel Institute Education Foundation. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires companies to provide safety training for its commercial vehicle drivers in accordance with its CSA – Compliance, Safety, Accountability – Program. This webinar is intended as training for drivers, for them to watch and learn. We will record the entire webinar, so if you subscribe to it, you can download it and show it to your drivers even if they can’t watch it live. This is a very cost effective way of training. Traffic accidents are the number one cause of loss for our industry, incurring insurance cost, lost work hours and productivity, and vehicle expense. This course, offered by ICPA instructor Gary LaBrake, has proven results in lowering costs. When he gave it to drivers at a large corporate account, they cut their accident-related losses by 21% in one year. Included in the training are how to identify and avoid the most common causes of accidents, to bring drives up to speed on new regulations regarding pedestrians, distracted driving, and rights of way. He’ll also discuss driving in poor weather conditions – 24% of accidents are weather related – and though we’re are nearing the depths of winter, you’ll be surprised to learn snow and sleet are not the number one cause of weather-related accidents. Once registered, we’ll give you log-in information to access the webinar, and afterwards, to access the recording so you can offer the training to all your drivers.
